When Kemper was shuttered, Ed Holland who help lead the effort to build Kemper gasifiers was emboldened by the continued innovation of the Liu-Vimalchand team and the need for both low-rank and higher-rank coals to be gasified cleanly to produce power and essential chemicals while capturing CO₂ for reuse. He worked tirelessly to see that Gasification 2.0 would reach the market. In 2023, Moor and Holland united industry veterans, scientists, and policy leaders to launch Powerscape—delivering affordable, reliable, sustainable solutions that drive energy security, economic growth, and a cleaner future.
