WASHINGTON, D.C., January 20, 2026 — Karl Moor, founder and CEO of Powerscape Global, was recently appointed to the National Coal Council, the federal advisory body that provides guidance to the U.S. Secretary of Energy on federal coal policy and the technological, regulatory, and social impacts of coal production and use.
Last week, Karl joined fellow Council members at the White House for the first meeting under the NCC’s renewed charter. The discussion was pragmatic and forward-looking, focused on grid reliability, rising industrial demand, and how advanced coal technologies can be deployed at scale to meet real-world needs, including the role domestic resources can play in supporting those requirements.
During discussions associated with the meeting, Karl and other Council members addressed a range of issues, including how advanced coal technologies, such as gasification, can support energy reliability and growing demand from manufacturing and fertilizer production by enabling coal to serve as a flexible domestic feedstock rather than solely a legacy fuel.For Powerscape Global, this work is directly aligned with what we are building. Our Coal Gasification 2.0 platform is designed to convert domestic coal into reliable power and essential industrial products such as ammonia and hydrogen, with an emphasis on execution, scalability, and system simplicity.
This engagement will inform our continued work to advance Coal Gasification 2.0 as an execution-ready pathway for domestic energy infrastructure across the United States, including projects developed in partnership with Native American tribes. More broadly, this work supports reliable electricity production and essential industrial needs, including manufacturing and agriculture.
Karl brings more than four decades of experience across energy technology, environmental and air policy, utility operations, and federal regulatory affairs. His appointment places Powerscape Global at the center of the national conversation on energy security and industrial capability at a moment when reliability and domestic production matter more than ever.
